Who we are
Brim is operated by Digitonica SRL (“we,” “us”), a company registered in Romania (CUI 46142569) with its registered office at Dr. Victor Gomoiu nr. 11, bl. S26, sc. 1, ap. 5, Craiova. This policy explains what data the app handles and how we look after it. Questions are welcome any time at [email protected].
Your data stays on your device
Journal entries, mood check-ins, breathing session counts, and your reframing notes are stored locally in your device's secure storage. We don't upload, read, or back them up, and they never leave your device unless you choose to share them.
Analytics and session replay
To fix bugs and improve the app we use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics — such as which screens are opened and crash reports — and privacy-first session replays of how the app is used. Everything you type and all images are masked, and the journal and Brimmy chat screens are excluded from recording entirely. None of this is linked to your name, email, or a device identifier.
AI companion (Brimmy)
When you chat with Brimmy, your messages are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes them to generate a reply and then returns it to your device. Anthropic does not use messages sent through its API to train its models, and we don't keep a copy of your messages on our servers. Your conversations are saved only on your device, so you can revisit past chats; delete them anytime in the app via Settings, or remove the app to erase them all. Because Brimmy is powered by AI, please avoid sharing details you wouldn't want processed by a third-party service.
Subscriptions
If you subscribe, payments are handled by Apple or Google, not by us. We use RevenueCat to verify your subscription status; they receive only an anonymous user ID — no name, email, or contact info.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, your device schedules them locally. We don't run a notification server, so we can't see whether you received or opened them.
Children
Brim is not intended for anyone under 17, and we don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we'll help.
Your rights
Because everything you create — including your Brimmy conversations — stays on your device, you're in direct control: edit or delete entries in the app, and removing the app erases all local data. For the limited data we do hold — anonymous analytics — the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Romanian Data Protection Authority (ANSPDCP). Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll revise the date above when we do, and we'll highlight significant changes in the app.
